The Conflict Analytics Lab at Queen’s University is seeking a talented and creative Digital Marketing Officer to join our team. As a Digital Marketing Officer, you will manage our social media platforms, create engaging content, and promote the lab’s research and activities to a wide audience of university students and beyond. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, ideal for university students who are passionate about social media and interested in law, technology, and artificial intelligence.  Please read on for further details.

Position Details 

Position: Digital Marketing Officer (part-time) 

Organization: Conflict Analytics Lab, Queen’s University — Find out more about the CAL and our projects at the following links: 

Location: Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Expected time commitment: Maximum of 10 hours per week 

Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour + 4% vacation pay 

Contract Length: starting ASAP (April 2025) until December 31, 2025.  Opportunity for renewal of up to one year, subject to graduation date.  

 
Responsibilities: 

  1. Update blog posts via WordPress and manage blog production by law students. 
  1. Create engaging and relevant social media posts on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and TikTok to promote the lab’s research, events, and activities. 
  1. Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement, followers, and brand awareness. 
  1. Produce additional marketing materials, such as graphics, videos, and infographics, as required. 
  1. Designing and updating the Conflict Analytics Lab websites as needed. 
  1. Collaborate with lab members and stakeholders to gather content and ensure consistent messaging and branding. 
  1. Monitor and analyze social media performance, provide regular reports, and make recommendations for improvement. 
 
Required Qualifications: 

  1. Currently enrolled as a Queen’s University student, preferably with a background in social media management, communications, marketing, or related fields. 
  1. Strong proficiency in social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and TikTok, and experience managing social media accounts. 
  1. Excellent writing skills and ability to create engaging content for different social media platforms. 
  1. Creative technical skills and experience in video production, web design, and graphic design. 
  1. Knowledge of social media analytics and ability to interpret data to drive strategy. 
  1. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. 
  1. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency. 
  1. Creativity, innovation, and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. 

Previous experience with the Conflicts Analytics Lab is considered an asset.
